A 76-year-old woman remains in the hospital after police say she was neglected by three women who also stole her money.

Patricia Neville was found in October in her Lake Spivey Country Club home with wounds and other signs of neglect that nearly killed her, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Clayton County police arrested Jennifer Rene Lassen, 35, Shelley Dale Lovegrove, 44, and Alexis Ann Messenger, 26, on neglect and elder abuse charges, according to jail records.

Neville, a millionaire and owner of Atlanta Truck Parts, hired the women to care for her and her disabled daughter, Channel 2 reported. The women were each being paid $1,000 per week.

Elizabeth Williams Winfield, Neville’s conservator, told Channel 2 the women opened credit cards in Neville’s name and paid college tuition.

Police are investigating a case of elder abuse in which officers suspect the victim's caretakers stole her money to pay for college tuition.

Neville was reportedly in such poor condition that she had to have surgery.

“She was extremely underweight and dehydrated,” Winfield said. “She had several open wounds.”

The three women remain in jail.

No charges have been filed against the women for the thefts, but police say they are investigating the case, Channel 2 reported.
