A car crashed at the I-285/I-75 interchange early Wednesday after a pursuit by Smyrna police, a spokeswoman said.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m., police learned of a burglary in progress at Wade Ford on South Cobb Drive, spokeswoman Heather Knight said.

“An off-duty officer was able to give a description of the vehicle as it fled the scene,” Knight said. “It was described as a blue Chevy Impala with a temporary tag.”

Officers chased the car, which went onto I-285 and later crashed when it overcorrected on a curve.

Two people were arrested at the scene, Knight said.

No other details were released. The investigation is ongoing.
