A photo of a convicted child molester at an elementary school dance landed him back behind bars, according to Channel 2 Action News.
Charlie Bell told the television station something seemed off about his ex-girlfriend’s new beau.
“So, I took his name and looked him up on the internet,” Bell said.
He found William McDougal listed on the GBI’s Sex Offender Registry.
McDougal, 37, had been convicted of child molestation in Clayton County in 2014. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison, but served two years and was released on parole.
As part of his probation, McDougal wasn’t supposed to have any contact with children.
Bell said McDougal had been to his daughter’s school multiple times, most recently at a Valentine’s Day dance.
He told Channel 2 he contacted authorities Feb. 17 about McDougal, who was arrested Thursday at a meeting with his probation officer.
McDougal will be taken to Clayton County for a probation violation hearing.
