Two gun owners in metro Atlanta are facing reckless conduct charges after their guns accidentally fired while being cleaned.

Jasmine Coston woke up in the middle of the night and called 911 when she heard a gunshot in her Sandy Springs apartment and found a bullet hole in her door, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“I thank God for that, that it didn’t hit me at all,” Coston told Channel 2.

According to the television station, a Sandy Springs police incident report says Coston’s neighbor was cleaning his gun when it accidentally fired and shot a bullet through his door and into hers. He was cited for reckless conduct.

A man in Roswell faces a similar situation, Roswell police spokeswoman Lisa Holland told Channel 2.

Kevin Foster, 44, was also charged with reckless conduct after his gun went off while cleaning it. A bullet hit his neighbor’s home, Channel 2 reported.

“If you are going to have one, you need… to know how to handle a gun,” Holland said. “Especially if you’re cleaning it.”
