Man dies days after being shot multiple times in the head in southwest Atlanta

A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot in the head three times, Atlanta police said.

A man who was shot three times in the head on Jan. 23 died at Grady Memorial Hospital, police said Wednesday.

Officers found Rodney Ellis of Atlanta in a car at the intersection of Ridge Avenue and Pryor Street in southwest Atlanta just before 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday, Officer Donald Hannah said.

The car had shattered glass on the hood and several bullet casings nearby on the ground, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Ellis was taken to Grady and was listed as critical/low, Hannah said.

He died on Jan. 26, police said.
