A man was arrested on a charge of arson early Tuesday morning after a fire at a Lithonia area home.

Crews with DeKalb County fire were called around 1:40 a.m. to put out the blaze in the 6100 block of Creekford Drive off Phillips Road, fire Capt. Dion Bentley told AJC.com.

While there were people inside the home when the fire started, they had escaped before firefighters arrived. Jeremy Wyatt, 32, was arrested, the fire department said in a statement.

The fire was a result of a “domestic dispute,” officials said.
