An Alpharetta resident woke up to find no wheels on the Chevy Tahoe he parked in the driveway of his home Sunday in the Tuxford subdivision, according to an Alpharetta police report.

Jamie Jackson, the car owner and a traveling salesman, told Channel 2 Action News he thinks the wheels were stolen by experienced thieves.

“They obviously had them and knew exactly what they were doing, and as the police officer said, they probably were in and out of here in absolutely no time,” Jackson said

His truck was left sitting on two cinder blocks, according to the police report.

Two other cars in the same driveway were not damaged.

Alpharetta police said the two untouched cars were parked so close together, thieves probably couldn’t remove the wheels.

Police also said a car owner in a nearby neighborhood reported a similar attempt Sunday on Celandine Way.

That victim, Bryan McDonough, said when he tried to drive his red Ford F-150 Sunday morning, the driver side front wheel fell off, according to a police report of the incident. The lug nuts were missing.

McDonough added in his statement to police that his vehicle’s alarm went off about 3:20 a.m. Sunday and he noticed a silver or gold sedan leaving the location.

It was similar to a report Jackson gave claiming he saw a white van that appeared to be casing the neighborhood the Friday morning before his wheels were stolen.

Although McDonough couldn’t provide police a tag number, Jackson said he gave the tag number of the van he saw to police. And officers are going through surveillance camera footage in the area to see if there’s any evidence of the wheel thefts, according to Channel 2.
