Adoption fees are reduced by almost half through Sunday at the Cobb Animal Shelter.

All cats and dogs, 2 years old and older, may be adopted for $60. A bonded pair of cats, 2 years old and older, may be adopted for $75 for both cats who must be adopted together. The normal adoption fee is $115 for all animals.

The shelter only keeps dogs and cats since fish, birds, ferrets, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs and reptiles are rarely turned into the shelter.

When the shelter does get these animals, rescue groups are contacted to take possession of them since these groups are very knowledgeable of the specific needs of these animals and they adopt them out from their rescue group.

All adoptions include spay/neuter, rabies vaccination and up-to-date vaccines. The animal shelter's hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily through Saturday and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 1060 Al Bishop Drive, Marietta.
