A Texas woman claims that despite having a stomach virus that eventually sent her to the hospital, her manager told her to keep working.

Elizabeth Taff was working at a Subway restaurant in Freeport. She claims she had a serious stomach virus that was causing profuse sweating and severe vomiting, forcing her to leave her positon and run back to the bathroom several times.

When she told her manager, the response was less than sympathetic. Taff claims her manager told her she didn’t care and to get back on the line to make sandwiches.

Taff continued working until her break time, where she went outside and passed out. Another employee came to her aid, and called for an ambulance. The employee took a photo of the fallen Taff and posted it on Facebook with the comment: "If you planned on eating Freeport Subway today I advise not to, I witnessed an employee vomiting and her manager telling her to just switch shirts."

Taff was later fired, but Subway claims it was not because she was sick, but because of poor performance and insubordination. The company’s social media team says it takes Taff’s claim seriously and is investigating the incident.
