Even future baseball Hall of Famers have to do household chores sometimes, right? And sometimes, well, things don’t go as planned.
Former Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones admitted on Twitter late Wednesday that he accidentally started a fire in the woods behind his Roswell home.
"Tried to do my daily chores and cleaned out the fireplace," Jones posted around 8 p.m. "Went and dumped the ashes. Alls good right? Nope. Set the woods on fire! Ugh."
According to Roswell Fire Department Deputy Chief Paul Piccirilli, the fire burned an area of woods approximately 30 feet in diameter. The flames were doused with one fire engine and one hose.
Piccirilli told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that firefighters were on the scene for about 45 minutes.
He said Thursday that Jones would not face any charges in connection with the woods fire.

“The Fire Department recommends that when you clean out your fireplace or grill, remember that the ashes can stay hot for 2 or 3 days,” Piccirilli said.
“Please place hot ashes in a metal can away from combustibles, including landscaping, boxes and of course, your home,” he suggested. “The best place for ashes is in the metal can on your driveway or other concrete surface.”
Jones followed up with a tweet thanking the firefighters for their quick work.
“I got firefighters all over my place! Thank you Roswell Fire Dept.,” Jones posted.
Jones recently announced that he plans to return to Texas to run his family's ranch.
