Children at four childcare centers — one in Buford and three in Atlanta — are now eligible for free meals, the non-profit Quality Care for Children (QCC) announced Wednesday. They are: Hamilton Mill Child Development Center, Inc., Buford; Atlanta School of Excellence, Celebrity Kids Learning Center and Ms. Niecy's Home Away From Home Learning Center LLC, all in Atlanta. The food is provided through the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Child and Adult Care Food Program. "Children's brains develop the most from birth to five years old, but they can't do it without the proper nutrition," said Quality Care for Children's Chief Executive Officer Pam Tatum. "Through the Child and Adult Care Food Program, we're enabling the centers to make sure that the children in their care are receiving balanced meals and snacks throughout the day."
