A Cherokee High School teacher was arrested Wednesday on charges he had an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old student.

Cherokee County deputies arrested English teacher and head boys soccer coach Jack Eisenman, the school district said in a letter to parents Wednesday afternoon.

He was taken into custody after an “immediate investigation into an anonymous tip” received earlier in the week, the district said.

Eisenman, 25, was charged with sexual assault by a teacher and was taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, sheriff’s office spokesman Jay Baker told AJC.com.

At a first court appearance Thursday, bond was set at $15,000, Baker said.

The district placed him on immediate leave when he was arrested, spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby told AJC.com. She said she could not release additional details about the allegations because the investigation is ongoing.

The district asked any parents or students to come forward with information that could help the investigation.

Eisenman was named head soccer coach in May, according to his Twitter profile.
