A 17-year-old Cherokee County boy killed in a single-vehicle wreck was not wearing his seat belt, Canton police said Friday.

Alexander Robert Carson, of Canton, died Wednesday afternoon after being ejected from the 1999 Ford Explorer he was driving on Bluffs Parkway, according to Lt. Jeff Tucker. Investigators believe Carson veered off the roadway and into the grass before re-entering the roadway, causing the Explorer to roll several times, Tucker said.

Carson was a student at Northside Christian School in Woodstock. He is survived by his parents, two brothers and three sisters, all of Canton, according to online obituary.

The teen’s funeral will be held Saturday at noon at the First Baptist Church of Canton.
