A survey by Business Insider asked more than 1600 people about their attitudes toward sex and the age they first became sexually active, and New Yorkers and Californians stood out for having sex at a younger age and having more relaxed attitudes than the rest of the country.
The survey of 1,660 single people showed that men and women from New York and California were more likely to kiss on the first date than singles in other states. New Yorkers were slightly more likely to have sex on the first date than Californians, but both were more likely to hit the bedroom on the first date than singles in other states.
Californians were more likely than people in other states to date someone of another race and New Yorkers were more likely to date someone with a different religion.
New Yorkers and Californians were also more likely to date multiple partners at the same time.
The survey participants in both states said 15 to 18 was a good age range for losing one's virginity.
