A car salesman who allegedly shot his girlfriend’s son to death was arrested in College Park on Monday, a week after the shooting happened.

Calvin Sneed went to a friend’s home this morning after being on the run following the shooting death of Gregory Jones Jr., Atlanta police spokeswoman Officer Lisa Bender said. The friend then went to College Park police and handed over her keys for officials to arrest Sneed at her home, Channel 2 Action News reported. Sneed was arrested without incident, Bender said.

Atlanta police say Sneed, 51, allegedly shot Jones in front of his mom outside a home on Croft Place in Northwest Atlanta about 10 p.m. Feb. 13.

Williams told Channel 2 that Sneed then “reached in his pocket pulled the revolver out and repeatedly stood over my son and shot him.” Police say Sneed drove off in a red Hyundai.

Jones, 30, was shot at least three times and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he died Tuesday.

Police say Sneed went to work at Superior Chevrolet in DeKalb after the shooting, like nothing happened.
