A Gwinnett County woman said she was horrified when she saw two dogs attacking another woman.

The attack was so vicious that police shot and killed both dogs, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Lisa Wilcox told the news station she was driving through a Lilburn neighborhood Saturday when she saw a boxer and a pit bull attacking a woman.

“I didn’t know what to do,” she said. “I was afraid to get out of my car.”

She said she drove into the yard of a home to try to distract the dogs.

“She crawled from under the bushes from under these two dogs,” Wilcox told Channel 2, “and every time she’d move they’d grab her head, and she started crawling towards me.”

The woman eventually made it to the backseat of Wilcox’s car, Channel 2 reported. She was bleeding profusely.

Wilcox said she called 911 and the woman was taken away in an ambulance. The owners of the dogs said they aren’t sure how the animals got out.

“It was horrific. The whole thing was horrible,” Wilcox said.

It’s not clear if the owners will be charged.
