Three officers have been taken to an area hospital after responding to the United Inn Hotel on Memorial Drive in DeKalb County. Some type of hazardous material was suspected, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Emergency crews have evacuated the third floor of the hotel, but authorities found a body in a hotel room, DeKalb County police spokesperson Shiera Campbell said.

The officers said there was a strong chemical odor in the room with the dead body and officers started to feel sick, Channel 2 reported. The officers called for EMS and hazmat.

Fire investigators took samples from inside the room to try to figure out what is causing the odor, Channel 2 reported.
