Bomb threats at the Cherokee County Courthouse and the Cobb County Courthouse were being investigated late Tuesday morning.

The Cherokee County Justice Center and the Historic Courthouse were evacuated after receiving a bomb threat around 11:20 a.m., said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jay Baker.

Canton police said that courthouse has been evacuated, and North and West Main streets have been closed downtown.

Foreclosures sales were ongoing at the time the threat was received, he said.

A threat was also called into Cobb County 911. Currently both buildings are being searched by deputies and K-9’s. No device has been located, Baker said.
