Just when you thought you’d tasted it all, the folks at the Jelly Belly Candy Co. have a new flavor to tantalize your taste buds.

The company that brought us such gourmet flavors as Buttered Popcorn and Bubble Gum jelly beans recently announced its latest masterpiece — a new bean called ‘Draft Beer.’

The impetus for the new flavor: to pay homage to 145-year-old company’s German ancestry with a Hefeweizen-inspired ale flavor.

“Anyone who enjoys a good, cold beer will enjoy Draft Beer Jelly Belly beans for the simple fact that it tastes just as you’d imagine,” says Rob Swaigen, vice president of marketing for the company.

However, you won’t get a buzz from the new candy. There’s absolutely no alcohol in it. The beer-flavored jelly bean joins the company’s other drink-inspired, but non-alchoholic, jelly beans like Pina Colada, Mai Tai and strawberryDaquiri.
