Snellville residents will have the chance to tell city officials what kind of improvements they want at a local park.

A public input meeting on the future of T.W. Briscoe Park will be held 6:30-8 p.m. Sept. 30 in the Betty McMichael Room at the park’s office located at 2500 Sawyer Pkwy.

Residents will be able to pick prequalified items or improvements they’d like to see incorporated into the park’s master plan update. Some of the improvements include an accessible playground, updated basketball courts, hiking trails, more tennis and pickleball courts, indoor meeting rooms and a gym.

Anyone unable to attend in person can also join the meeting via Microsoft Teams at bit.ly/3n8Rkth. The city’s Park Advisory Board and City Council will approve the proposals and find funding sources after determining designs and specific items for the update.

“We depend on residents’ input to make these changes,” said Lisa Platt, parks and recreations director, in a press release. “If you’d like to see something at the park, please attend the meeting and let us know.”

The city recently announced its second phase of the city’s greenway trail system that will connect the park to The Grove at Towne Center near City Hall. Officials expect to complete the trail next year.
