More than 90 percent of the workforce in Henry County’s public schools has been vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a statement released by district officials.

More than 4,800 employees in the state’s seventh-largest school district qualified for $1,000 in incentive pay after getting the shots.

Officials said the district utilized its own school nurses as part of a closed point of distribution for vaccines, the only school district in Georgia to do so.

The one-time pay supplement will be funded by federal relief money allocated to school districts for the purpose of providing in-person learning options for students. Information: henry.k12.ga.us.
