Snellville Music Ministry hosts virtual hymn-singing event

Snellville United Methodist Church’s Music Ministry is inviting residents to join them for a virtual singing event on Facebook Live March 18.

The stream will begin at 7 p.m., where Catherine Elliott, director of music and worship will go live from home “to spend a little time singing and praying together.”

"Take some time away from all the stress and worry of your day to come sing together online," reads the event description.

Snellville Music Ministry asks that if participants have any requests, they should leave a comment on the event page or send a message.

Access to the music ministry's hymnal can be found online.

The virtual singing event comes after the church, like many others in the metro Atlanta area, has suspended services as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

"The church will continue to take the expressed public concern very seriously and remain committed to providing worship services, Bible studies, classes, and events in which the health and general well-being of our congregation are ensured to the best extent possible. We will follow the lead of the authorities if activities and/or worship services are to be canceled," read a notice on the church's website.

Despite parishoners being unable to attend chruch, Snellville UMC will also host a live reflection on Romans 5: 1-12 Sunday, March 22.
