When her teenage son wasn't showing her respect, Heidi Johnson took action in the form of a letter and rent bill.
Johnson took to Facebook on Sept. 2 to share her frustrations with friends and family.
“The child is going to have a rude awakening today after the words he exchanged with me last night,” she wrote.
She went on to say that she was confiscating the toys and clothes that she bought her son.
“Mama's done playing games and being a doormat,” she wrote.
In just about three weeks, the post has been shared more than 160,000 times and has nearly 100,000 likes.
In addition, nearly 15,000 people have commented on the post. A lot of comments have been supportive of the mother’s letter.
“These kids think they are entitled to everything. I happen to like this little note,” Nikki Radford Watkins wrote.
“Love your letter and consequences for him disrespecting you!! I do the same for my 13 year old son and it seems to be the best parenting method I’ve found that works!!” Shirley Bays wrote.
