How about the late '90s and the Furby, which, as CBS News reported in 1999, was banned by the National Security Agency for potentially being a security threat?

Or maybe the "Red Ryder BB gun with the compass in the stock and this thing that tells time" that Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" coveted topped your list.

According to AOL.com, there are some toys that have had staying power through the decades like Hot Wheels that are still stuffing stockings.  The Easy Bake Oven, introduced in the 60's, have had a redo with more colors and more mixes.  You can also scour the Internet and find recipes to take your light-bulb baking to the next, more grown-up level.

But it was one toy and movie combination that changed the face of Christmas morning.  That could only be Star Wars.  Star Wars hit the big screen in 1977 and it was the TIE-figher tie-ins, along with the other toys, that had kids clamoring and parents scrambling for anything from either the Rebels or the Empire.

Fast forward to 2014.  If you still have your telescoping lightsaber from the Dark Side "dark ages" (all the way back to 1978!), AOL reports you could pocket on average $6,000.  But in reality, how many people still have a pristine nearly 35-year-old Darth Vader lightsaber?
