Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, and I can’t decide if it’s because of the costumes, the candy or the opportunity for a little trick or two. Most likely it’s the combination of all three. This year I decided to focus less on the tricks and more on the treats.
Honestly, kids are going to love collecting and consuming their Halloween candy no matter how you package it, but if you are planning any type of get-together with adults, you might want to consider boo-tiful themed boxes that can hold everything from candy to carrots to Halloween-themed trinkets like temporary tattoos.
It’s easy to create a box that replicates the look of candy corn. The size of the box will be determined by the size of the goodies you plan to stuff inside. Simply cut an appropriately-sized square for the box bottom and attach a tall triangle to each side. Decorate each triangle with strips of yellow and orange paper, leaving the tops white, just like the candy. Punch a small hole in the top of each triangle and thread ribbon through the holes. Pull the sides of the box together by pulling the ribbon taut and keep the box closed by tying the ribbon in a bow … but not before dropping your Halloween goodies inside.
Once the box is designed and filled with your favorite Halloween treats, the trick is to decide how to display them. Place one on the plate at each place setting if you are planning a sit down dinner, or scatter them all across the center of a table for a sweet display and hand them out as party favors as the guests are leaving.
If you plan on featuring treats this Halloween, then candy corn boxes offer a smart solution for packaging those treats. Whether you are giving Halloween-themed gifts or candy to your party guests, these boxes will certainly do the trick.
