it isn't for the weak or the gullible. If you've somehow forgotten that it's never a good idea to let your guard down on the first day of April, a USA Today article provides a few reminders:
- Twitter announced Sunday night that it would feature a free, consonant-only plan called Twttr. Twitter users would be able to "keep their vowels" for $5 a month. Don't worry -- "y" would still be free.
- The ever-ambitious Google launched two pranks, which it introduced with two fairly credible-seeming videos:
--Google Nose would incorporates smells into Google's search functions
--Google Maps would feature a treasure map overlay for those wanting to scout for buried treasure
- YouTube (owned by Google) announced it would shut down the site April 1. The video sharing site said it was no longer accepting submissions because it was "finally time to pick the winner."
- Deal site Half Off Depot sent out emails to users advertising 100 percent off all its deals.
Is it weird that we actually wish the Treasure Map overlay was real? There's gold in them thar hills!
