The Forum arena is promoting six upcoming Eagles concerts six concerts kicking off the opening celebration of the venue (Jan. 15, 17, 18, 22, 24 and 25) with a gigantic roof-sized vinyl record that "really turns." The label is from the Eagles' multiplatinum "Hotel California" record.
A waste of space? Not really, since incoming passengers of flights arriving at Los Angeles International Airport can see it.
The record-sized record also promotes the the re-opening of the Forum itself, which was recently renovated to the tune of $100 million.

"The super-sized 'Hotel California' LP was designed and built by the marketing and promotion company Pop2Life, based in Glendale, Calif.," according to a press release. "The impressive structure is made from more than a quarter-million square feet of printed vinyl, held up by more than half a mile of aluminum truss, the only 120-foot truss circle in the U.S. The 407-foot diameter disc spins at 17 mph and was constructed by a crew of more than 75 workers. In order to have the promotion ready for its official Jan. 1, 2014 unveiling, those workers were on the job every day over the holiday season."
But does the disc actually play the songs? So far, nobody has come forward with a giant record player to find out.
