Q: As a native Atlantan and Southerner, I love my cornbread. Do you think DBA would share its corn muffin recipe? Also, its lemonade-mint cooler is an excellently refreshing summer drink, but the corn muffins are a lot safer. Thank you for your help. -- Jeanne Knox, Tucker

A: D.B.A. Barbecue owner Matt Coggin sent us the recipe for the Lemonade-Mint Cooler, and in a few weeks we'll have that corn muffin recipe as well. In the meantime, you can salute these beautiful spring days with this refreshing combination of lemon and mint. The cooler is made one drink at a time by muddling lemon and mint with sugar and then adding the alcohol and lemonade.

Muddling is the term for mashing ingredients and pressing them, usually at the bottom of a mixing glass or cocktail shaker. A muddler will be part of a regulation bar set and can look like a long stick about 1-inch in diameter, or it can be stainless steel or plastic with a large rounded end used for mashing. You can substitute with a wooden spoon.

Is there a restaurant recipe you'd like to make at home? Tell us and we'll try to get it. We'll also test it and adapt it for the home kitchen. Because of volume, we can't answer all inquiries. Send your request, your address and phone number to svanatten@ajc.com and put "From the menu of” and the name of the restaurant in the subject line.
