North River Tavern's El Guapo Wing Eating Contest 8879 Roswell Road, Sandy Springs Challenge: The El Guapo Wing Eating Contest is doable. To win, you must eat 10 wings in 10 minutes or 20 wings in 10 minutes. North River Tavern also recognizes its top 50 record holders. The record for 10 wings is about 3 minutes, and the record for 20 wings is about 5 minutes. On Oct. 24, the restaurant will host its annual contest to determine who will be the fastest to eat 10 wings.
Prizes: They go in tiers.
10 wings in 10 minutes: free T-shirt.
20 wings in 10 minutes: free T-shirt and your wings are free.
Top 50 record holder: free T-shirt, your wings are free and your name takes a spot on the record holder's plaque.

Wing Eating Contest at Hurricane Grill & Wings 9700 Medlock Bridge Road #120, Johns Creek Challenge: Wing lovers, keep your eyes open and set your calendars for the next Wing Eating Contest, probably in November, on the restaurant's anniversary. If you eat the most wings in 15 minutes, or eat the most of the restaurant's spiciest wings in five minutes, your wing craving won't go unquenched for the next 12 months.
Prize: A year's worth of wings.

Big Pie in the Sky Pizzeria's Carnivore Challenge 1010 Mansell Road, Suite 180, Roswell Challenge: For $50, you and a friend have to eat an 11-pound, 30-inch, five-meat and double-the-toppings pizza in one hour. Leaving the restaurant or going to the bathroom is not allowed, although you can stand up, walk around and get drinks. If you throw up, you must clean up the mess. No one has won at the Roswell location. Between the Roswell and Kennesaw locations, 4,000 people have attempted the challenge, and only nine teams, or 18 people, have won. Call at least a day in advance to set up the challenge.

The Grim Reaper Burger at Lucky's Burger & Brew 1144 Alpharetta St., Roswell Challenge: The Grim Reaper Burger includes a 4-pound patty, eight slices of cheese, 12 strips of bacon, seven fried eggs, a mound of onion rings and mayonnaise on a challah bun. After $40 for this monster, you'll likely be in a food coma. Call two days in advance to set up the challenge.
Prize: If you and a friend finish the burger, you'll both win a T-shirt. If you finish on your own, you'll win a free T-shirt, your picture on the wall and $250 to spend at Lucky's Burger & Brew.

Crawfish Eating Contest at Adele's on Canton 1169 Canton St., Roswell Challenge: First, master the most efficient crack-and-peel technique. Then, try the annual Crawfish Eating Contest in June during Adele's on Canton's all-day, New Orleans event. The winner will be the person who can peel and eat the most crawfish in five minutes. Kids and adults compete separately.
Prize: Those vary, but typically are a care package with New Orleans goodies, coupons, koozies and more.
