Luxury magazine "Town & Country" apologized to Monica Lewinsky after disinviting her to an event after former President Bill Clinton decided to attend.
“We apologize to Ms. Lewinsky and regret the way the situation was handled,” the magazine said in a Twitter post.
The apology followed vague tweets from Lewinsky on Wednesday, which the Huffington Post first reported was directed at "Town & Country"
“Dear world: please don’t invite me to an event (especially one about social change) and – then after I’ve accepted – uninvite me because Bill Clinton then decided to attend,” Lewinsky said on Twitter.
Clinton introduced survivors from the shooting rampage at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in February at the magazine's fifth Philanthropy Summit Wednesday, according to CNN. It an invitation-only event.
His press secretary said the former president did not know anything about Lewinsky’s invitation.
Lewinsky, 44, is now an anti-bullying activist, but her affair with Clinton as a White House intern led to his impeachment.
