The president of Home Depot Canada is taking a leave of absence due to illness, and a replacement has been named.

Aaron Carmack had led the company's Canada operations, but will take on a different leadership role at the company when he returns from his extended leave, Home Depot said. Bill Lennie has been named the new Canada president.

Lennie was Home Depot's senior vice president of Merchandising, International and Sourcing. His responsibilities included the company's proprietary brands, environmental innovation and providing strategic direction on products and pricing to international operations, including Canada.

Lennie started at Home Depot in 1992, but was left from 2006 to 2009. He was senior vice president of Merchandising, Hardlines for Dick’s Sporting Goods.
