One of the largest grocery store chains in the United States is about to get a little larger, especially in metro Atlanta.
On Saturday, May 14, Kroger will be hosting a one-day job fair in 186 stores. How many positions are open? About 1100 in Georgia, South Carolina and eastern Alabama, with the majority of work available in metro Atlanta.
Positions run the gamut; Kroger is looking for cashiers, baggers, clerks and new associates to help staff the bakery, floral and deli, in addition to every other department throughout the stores. But regardless of job responsibilities, the primary attribute Kroger looks for in new hires is a strong commitment to customer service, according to Glynn Jenkins, Kroger's public relations director for the Atlanta Division.
"Kroger's growth trajectory creates more job opportunities for current and future associates. At this time, our stores across the Atlanta Division including Georgia, South Carolina and Eastern Alabama have openings for bright, hard-working associates who are passionate about making a difference for customers every day. We are looking to fill 1,100 positions in Georgia--nearly 900 of those in metro Atlanta. Kroger offers solid wages, affordable health care and other benefits to associates."
