Bravo pulled off successful spin-off wedding series for Kim Zolciak and NeNe Leakes. Now it's Kandi Burruss' turn.

Kandi's wedding, as we all know, happened on April 4. Bravo debuted an opening night with some major fireworks, courtesy of Kandi's good friend (and assistant) Carmon.

At the top of the hour, Kandi's team of three was "invited" to organize her wedding - in five weeks.

The highlights of the hour:

- Carmon is not thrilled about putting this wedding together, still upset by Kandi's Mama Joyce accusing her of canoodling with Kandi's fiance Todd Tucker.  (Blatantly false, by the way.)

"I work for Kandi but I'm not a wedding planner. This is not my thing." she complains to Todd.

"You need to step up," Todd says, being a surrogate for Kandi.

"It's the time frame," Carmon says. He says she is always being negative.

She gets mad at Todd because she's Kandi's employee, not Todd's. Carmon walks out in a huff.

Kandi is annoyed by Carmon. "I don't have time to cater to her feelings right now," Kandi says later.

Three days later, Carmon pops up at Kandi's house but not really to apologize.  She feels Todd was just getting on her case.

Carmon is so upset, Kandi cries. Carmon says she and Kandi never cleared the air over the bridal gown shopping disaster that aired during season six of "Real Housewives of Altanta." Carmon says she is so embarrassed, she says she won't even show up at her daughter's school, she is so ashamed. She feels  Todd's comments were what Kandi thought.

She sent Kandi a nasty text. Kandi says Carmon should have called her. She can't deal with this type of conflict. It's not Kandi's gig.

"If you don't want to do it, don't do it," Kandi says. "I'd rather us just be friends anyway. Don't do it. I"m okay with that. We don't argue about it no more."

"No job is worth ruining a 20-plus year friendship," Carmon said. "I don't want to be a problem with anybody."

-Reco Chappelle, an Atlanta designer, helps Kandi create a lovely dress  you can see above. We also meet Kwame, Kandi's hairstylist, and Tan, a good friend, neither ever really seen on "Real Housewives." He is a bit overwhelmed given the tight time frame since he has to also create eight bridesmaid dresses (including those for Kandi buds such as Phaedra Parks and singers Tiny and Fantasia)

- Nora and Bertha, Kandi's aunts, apologize for siding with Mama Joyce earlier and grant Kandi their full support getting married. "I want you happy," Nora said. "If marrying Todd makes you happy, so be it."

"Two down, one more to go," Kandi says.

The aunts have lunch with Mama Joyce and she is "surprised" to find out the wedding is happening. They try to sell Mama Joyce on Todd.

She's having none of it.

"I ain't gaining no son," Mama Joyce says. "I hate to see her being taking advantage."

"Daddy's a pimp. Mama's a ho," she continues, with no proof, of Todd's parents.

She also notes that Kandi has gained weight.

The aunts' efforts to turn around Mama Joyce? Epic fail.

Later, Mama Joyce visits Kandi's home.

"What made you decide to rush the wedding so quick?" Mama Joyce asks.

"Because I wanted that day 4-4-14."

"Did you do the prenup?

"I'm working on that."

Then Mama Joyce complains about not being welcome at Kandi's home. Kandi says Mama Joyce treats Todd poorly.

Then Joyce repeats the "daddy is a pimp, mama is a prostitute" lines.

"Why are you assuming the worst?" Kandi says.

Mama Joyce still thinks Todd is "latching onto" Kandi for her $$$.

"You are welcome to spend the night here - as long as you are nice," Kandi says. Given Mama Joyce's bad-a** attitude, that may be too tall an order.
