Atlanta-based Adult Swim over the past 12 years has been gradually encroaching onto Cartoon Network's territory.

It debuted on Sunday nights at 11 p.m. Over time, it began adding more nights, then expanded its time frame, first to 10 p.m., then 9 p.m.

Starting March 31, Adult Swim moves to 8 p.m. after another record-breaking year in ratings. Itstarget male 18 to 34 year old audience is especially loyal to its brand, which now features a mix of live action and animated series such as "China, IL," "Robot Chicken" and "Loiter Squad."

More of Cartoon  Network's programming will be available online.  Cartoon Network caters to ages 2 to 14 while Adult Swim caters to, well, adults.

HLN's "Showbiz Tonight," its long-time equivalent to "Entertainment Tonight" and "Access Hollywood," is airing its final episode Thursday, as the network is poised to go through nore major changes, according to TVNewser.

About a dozen people are losing their jobs. Host A.J. Hammer remains as correspondent.  The show debuted in 2005, as CNN Headline News was transitioning itself using more long-form programming. By 2008, Headline News had become HLN.

The channel had a round of layoffs and some day-time programming shifts in November soon after new management came in.

And just for the record, despite lop-sided nature of the Super Bowl Sunday, it drew the most viewers of any Super Bowl ever: 111.5 million, though on a percentage basis relative to the U.S. population, it was not the most popular show show ever. The half-time show of Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers drew a record 115.3 million viewers, more than the previous record of 114 million with Madonna two years ago.
