"Chrisley Knows Best" plot lines sound like ideas found plucked from any random sitcom from the 1990s.

This is how USA described the latest dubbed "Rules of Engagement":

When Todd learns that Savannah has a new boyfriend, who she's intentionally keeping away from meeting her nosy family, Todd goes to extreme lengths to try to get a glimpse of this new guy, and doesn't like what he sees.

The dude is named Blaire Hanks, a country singer from Nashville. And they appear to be still dating.

Here are some choice quotes from the episode:

Daddy dearest

"If it's not me, Chase and Grayson, there doesn't need to be another boy in her life and if so, I need to know who he is."-  Todd

"I've gone 17 years without Savannah having boy as a friend and I can go 17 more." - Todd

"I am out of her business! I'm in Blaire's business." - Todd, doing a background check on Blaire

"The last time I let up, one eloped and one got someone pregnant. No freedom for the inmates at the Chrisley institution." - Chase, referencing Lindsie and Kyle

1980s TV reference

"You go ahead, Matlock," - Julie, leaving Todd to work the background check

Mirror, mirror

"Now I know why she likes this guy. He looks like me!" - Todd, after meeting Blaire

Channeling his dad

"He has a penis and he's friendly. How friendly is he?" Chase to Savannah

"I think Todd needs a Xanax." - Chase, as Blaire talks about hanging out at bars and writing songs

Financial wizard

"I have watched every episode of 'Shark Tank' and I think we have what it takes to make a killer business." - Chase

"I don't know what monetary means." - Chase

Random comment that may or may not make sense

"Can't get the heathen out of them." - Todd, as he chases Savannah out of the door

Speaking truth

"My dad's crazy paranoid." - Savannah to boyfriend Blaire as he pulls out of the driveway while Todd snaps pictures.

Entrepreneur-ish

Chase's latest idea: a golf cart taxi service for college kids: "I want to be the next Bill Gates."

"I'm glad Chase hasn't asked me to invest in a whore house. That might be more profitable than some of his siblings' ventures." - Todd

"I need to brush up on my ROIs and KTAs - Kiss Todd's A**." - Chase

Closing advice

"Do not invest your time in anything that is not going to bear fruit." - Chase to Savannah
