Former President Bill Clinton made a lightning-quick visit to Atlanta on Saturday to collect more checks for his wife's campaign as Democrats tried to make the most of Donald Trump's latest shocker.

The event, held at the home of Democratic mega-donor Daniel Halpern and his wife Sonya, cost $50,000 to host and $10,000 for a picture with Clinton. That's about par for the course with Clinton's recent fundraisers.

The event underscored Atlanta's continuing role as a piggybank for both presidential campaigns. Hillary Clinton hasn't made a public appearance in Georgia since February, despite the insistence of her supporters that the state is competitive. But Bill Clinton has made several fundraising stops for his wife in the last few months, as has President Barack Obama and vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine.

Georgia Democrats are trying to seize an opening, though, after the release of a video showing Trump speaking in vulgar sexual terms about groping and harassing women.
