GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.

Jeff Herron, Prince Avenue Christian

1. Who is/was the most influential person in your coaching career? "Jimmy Dorsey, McEachern. He taught me every phase of football. He taught me about people and relationships. He took a chance on hiring me right out of college, and I will be forever grateful. Also, Billy Henderson, Clarke Central. He forced me to become a better head coach daily because of the intense daily competition between Clarke Central and Cedar Shoals. (GHSFD: Herron was head coach at Cedar Shoals from 1990 to 1993 and was 2-2 against Henderson's teams.)

2. Who is the best Georgia player you ever faced? "Greg Reid, Lowndes. He could change the game on offense, defense, or special teams, and he cost us [Camden County] two state championships!"

3. What is the best team you ever faced as a coach? "St. Thomas Aquinas or Miami Central in 2010. Both were tremendously talented and had more speed than I have ever seen."

4. If you were Gary Phillips, the new head of the GHSA, what would be the first rule that you would try to change? GHSFD: Herron declined to answer, but it is well known that he favors state championship games being played on high school fields and not in the Georgia Dome. "Having played in them at home, away and at the Dome, I would rate the Dome experience third."
