GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We'll report from a different head coach each day.

Michael Brown, Commerce

1. Who is/was the most influential person in your coaching career? "Steve Savage. I played under coach Savage here at Commerce [when he was] an offensive line coach and during his first three years as head coach and had the privilege to return and coach under him for 13 years. As a player, I learned the lessons of mental toughness and competitiveness. As a coach, I always appreciated his philosophy of you have what you have as players at your position, and there is no excuse for not getting each one coached up to the point where they can get the job done."

2. Who is the best Georgia player you ever faced? "Terry Harvey from Dacula High School. Commerce and Dacula were in the same region (8-A) back in the early 1990s. I played him four times in three years from 1988 to 1990. He was an unbelievable playmaker at quarterback and would knock your helmet off at safety. He totally dominated the game."

3. What is the best team you ever faced as a coach? "Buford 2001. They had playmakers at every position on offense and a defense that was physical and fast. I believe the 2001 team was the beginning of a long stretch of dominating teams at Buford."

4. If you were Gary Phillips, the new head of the GHSA, what would be the first rule that you would try to change? "The number of quarters allowed each week puts the smaller Class A schools in a difficult position trying to play JV. I would increase the quarters to seven or do away with the rule entirely."
