Well, we're starting to see those summer high gas prices again.
Trust me, I'm not the jolliest person when filling my tank at the gas station. Watching the total price creep up is not my idea of a good start to my morning before work.
But I have to remind myself it could be worse.
Right now, the average price in Atlanta is $2.85 for regular fuel, which is above AAA's national average of $2.80. If you're outside the metro area, you might spot some lower prices, like $2.69 in Athens or $2.57 in Columbus. Either way, prices are lower than where they were around this time last year.
According to AAA, the average gas price at the pumps last year was $3.61 for regular fuel. Mid, premium and diesel were $3.80, $3.97 and $3.88.
And if those prices are causing you some heartache when you're filling up your gas tank, just be glad today is June 16, 2015 and not Sept. 16, 2008.
Back then, you were pumping regular fuel at $4.11 per gallon.
