Good news for people who pair public transit with cycling: MARTA's making it an easier option.
Since 2015 MARTA has offered bike racks and repair kiosks at several stations including the Lindbergh Center, Ashby, Edgewood/Candler Park, Five Points, H. E. Holmes, North Avenue and West End.
There riders could secure bikes or fix simple problems like flat tires or loose handlebars.
Starting later this summer, MARTA will install racks and kiosks at the remaining 38 stations.
“Knowing that you’re able to make a quick repair; secure your bike, and catch the train to your destination can make a difference in how accessible the city is," said Rebecca Serna, Executive Director of the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition.
In-Our-Back-Yards, an organization that funds neighborhood leaders' ideas, paid for the kiosks through crowdfunding.
Other contributors to the crowdfunding include the bike advocacy group the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition, Lanier Parking and MailChimp, an Atlanta-based email marketing service provider.
