Georgia Commute Options is boosting its incentive offer to metro Atlanta commuters, offering $5 a day to those who switch from driving alone to taking an alternative commute.
What's an alternative commute? It could be carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, teleworking, biking or even walking to work.
The "Gimme Five" promotion, which starts Nov. 1, is a temporary increase of the existing daily incentive of $3 a day, up to $100.
Commuters must be new to clean commuting and apply on or after November 1, 2015 at GaCommuteOptions.com.
Georgia Commute Options statistics show that once enrolled, people tend to commit to alternative commuting. Eighty-five percent of commuters continue to use alternative modes six to 24 months after completing the incentive program. More than 23,000 commuters have participated in the incentives programs since 2000.
