If you're thinking of making the Atlanta Streetcar part of your holiday plans, be aware that it may be running on a modified schedule.

On Thursday, the Streetcar will run its regular schedule from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

On Friday, Dec. 25, the Streetcar will run from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The Streetcar will resume normal weekend operating hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday and normal weekday hours of 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Monday.

On Dec. 31, the Streetcar will run a modified schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to accommodate the large crowds expected to attend holiday events downtown.

On New Years Day, the Streetcar will resume operations from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. The Streetcar will return to normal operating hours of 8:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2.

The first anniversary of the streetcar opening is Dec. 30, and so far it has provided more than 800,000 trips. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's recently published a series of stories on the streetcar's rocky start.
