"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" will film in Atlanta, director James Gunn said during a Q&A with fans on his Facebook page.
In response to a question about whether he will appear at the next DragonCon he wrote, "Maybe. I'm gonna try. Because we're filming in Atlanta, I hope it works out for my schedule."

He also extolled his working relationship with Marvel. In response to a question about whether he had creative control with the first "Guardians" movie he said he felt like he had even more this go-round.
"We have a really great relationship where they let me go and do my thing, and I truly listen to their notes and ideas," Gunn wrote. "I've never been told to put in any character or plot element at all. I can't tell you the amount of ti mes I've read stuff on the Internet from people who think they understand how Marvel works, when they don't at all. When they trust you - and I think I've earned their trust over the past few years - they give you a wide berth. I truly love them and love working with them. Like a good marriage, we just fit."
It's a good bet the sequel will headquarter at the huge and expanding Pinewood Studios facility in Fayette County. "Ant-Man" filmed there last year and "Captain America" is on deck next.
