"Sully," a movie directed by Clint Eastwood about the heroics of US Airways Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, will film in Georgia, according to the state film commission.

Tom Hanks reportedly will portray the courageous pilot, whose grace under pressure saved all passengers aboard by skillfully landing on the Hudson River.

Both Eastwood and Hanks have filmed high-profile projects in Georgia. Eastwood directed the memorable "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil," the portrait of Savannah's batty aristocracy amid a murder trial, based on John Berendt's book. More recently Eastwood directed and starred in "Trouble With the Curve," with Justin Timberlake and Amy Adams.

Hanks filmed one of his most iconic projects in Savannah, "Forrest Gump," and more recently has served as an executive producer for the TV miniseries "Lewis and Clark," portions of which filmed outside Atlanta.
