  1. Salmon BLT at Ray's at Killer Creek A seafood twist on the classic lunchtime staple of a BLT makes for a fresh bite to eat at Ray's at Killer creek in the form of their salmon BLT. Topped with smoked bacon, lettuce and tomato on a brioche bun, the salmon BLT gets a tangy kick from chive tartar sauce. Enjoy the dish with a side of house-cut fries or keep it lighter and go with a side salad. 1700 Mansell Rd., Alpharetta, 770-649-0064, raysrestaurants.com.
  1. Braised beef short rib panini at Colletta Carnivores can visit Colletta—located at Avalon in Alpharetta —for an indulgent sandwich that ups the lunch game. The braised beef short rib panini is topped with pickled shallots, tallegio (an Italian chees that brings a mild fruity tang), salsa verde and arugula. This tender melt comes served with a choice of a side salad or fries, and is available on their lunch menu Mondays through Fridays (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and Saturdays (noon-3:30 p.m.). 900 Third St., Alpharetta, 678-722-8335, collettarestaurant.com.
  1. Roast chicken panini at Marlow's Tavern Check out one of the several OTP outposts of Marlow's Tavern, where you can order up a simple and hearty chicken sandwich that's warm and melty. Their roast chicken panini includes melting provolone cheese, arugula, tomato, apple wood smoked bacon and a bright basil aioli on pressed ciabatta bread. Nothing fancy, but solid ingredients make for a trusty sandwich here. (Try the truffled parmesan fries as an appetizer while you're at it.) Various locations, marlowstavern.com.

  1. Braised lamb "gyro" sandwich at Foundation Social Eatery The lunch menu at Foundation Social Eatery in Roswell boasts a bevy of sandwiches that will spice up your lunch game. The braised lamb "gyro" sandwich is made form tender braised lamb served between crispy slices of house-made baguette, then topped with tomato, red onion, mint and tzatziki for a little Greek touch. If lamb's not your thing, try the crispy chicken sandwich for a gastropub classic or the grilled shrimp BLT (we love the caper remoulade on that challah bread). 1570 Holcomb Bridge Rd., Space 810, Roswell, 770-641-8877, foundationatl.com.
