Calling all fruit lovers and urban foragers!
On May 21, attendees of the Spectacular Fruit Tree Ramble will put on their "fruit goggles" and explore the fruit trees around the Virginia-Highland neighborhood. The event is hosted by Concrete Jungle, an Atlanta-based nonprofit that brings otherwise neglected fruit from urban areas to those without access to fresh produce.
Spectacular Fruit Tree Ramble participants will get to closer look at the more than 20 different fruit trees growing in the area, from blueberries to pomegranates to peaches and apples.
After the tour, Orpheus Brewery will host a party open to young and old. The fruit-themed carnival will include catching falling faux apple, an apple whittling contest and a brewery tour and beer tasting for adults.
Proceeds from the event will be used to help Concrete Jungle expand its reach a larger area and donate more produce to shelters and food pantries.
The ramble begins at Orpheus Brewery at 3:30 p.m. The after-party begins at 5:30 p.m.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for kids. Purchase tickets here.
