A new Krog Street Market food stall is hoping to help diners indulge in "healthy-ish" without the guilt.

Recess -- from Castellucci Hospitality Group, which also operates The Iberian Pig, Cooks & Soldiers , Sugo and Double Zero , as well as the recently opened Krog Street Market restaurant Bar Maercado – is set to open Monday, Feb. 26.

The concept, which will offer "delicious food that makes you feel good," according to a press release, will feature a menu of mostly plant-based dishes including a variety of salads, grain bowls, sandwiches, toasts and vegetable sides, with optional meat, seafood and vegetable add-ons. Dishes include a "Bob Barley" bowl with barley, red quinoa, eggplant-tahini puree, carrots, zucchini, kale, red onion-apple agrodolce and sprouts; Raspberry and Banana toast with sunflower butter, raspberry, dark chocolate and lemon cream; Dirt Candy made with arugula, beets, carrots, winter slaw, savory granola and turmeric-black pepper vinaigrette; and a mushroom patty melt layered with shiitake, crimini, swiss cheese, red cabbage and mustard aioli on rye bread.

Overseeing the menu is chef Victoria Shore, who has worked with CHG for the past three years in various roles at Cooks & Soldiers, Double Zero and Bar Mercado.

Owner Fred Castellucci said he was inspired to open the restaurant -- which takes the place of The Spotted Trotter -- by a trip to Los Angeles and the way his wife cooks at home.

The beverage menu will include curated cocktails, a rotating, seasonal frozen cocktail and wine and beer by the glass. Non-alcoholic options will include a seasonal dtox organic juice, rotating smoothie, kombucha, cold brew on tap, lemonade, tea and house-made drinks such as the “turmeric tonic” made with turmeric, ginger, lemon, orange, mixed peppercorn and soda water.

The Recess space -- which was designed by Square Feet Studio and features neon signage and art by local artist Meredith Ann White -- will have 15 bar seats and will also sell grab-and-go options.

The spot will be open from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday.
