Italian restaurant Donetto opens tonight for dinner in West Midtown’s Stockyards development at 976 Brady Ave.

Named after the largest Chianina bull recorded in history – weighing in at 3,840 pounds – Donetto will serve a menu of items inspired by the Tuscan region including tagliatelle with vongole, basil, butter, white wine, garlic bread crumbs and colatora di alici; fusilli with smoked fish, zucchini, shishitos, garlic aioli and basil; and ripiena stuffed with quail, smoked mushrooms, garlic and quail jus. The menu also has a variety of heavy meats including steak florentine for two or three with salsa verde and olio verde; a 45-day dry aged bone-in ribeye with onion ash aioli; and half smoked chicken with fried polenta, figs, gorgonzola dolce and piadina.

Beverage options include local and Italian craft beers, Negroni on tap, more than 100 bottles of wine, Italian sodas, an Amaro program and a revolving list of pun-intended cocktails including the Netspritz and Chill composed of house limonata, rosemary, aperol, prosecco and lemon; Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder made with 229 Gin, genepy des alpes, falernum, honey, lemon and absinthe; and the Smokey Cocchi with Banhez Mezcal, cocchi rosa, aperol, pineapple and hellfire bitters.

Donetto is open from 5-10:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 5-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with late night and Sunday hours to come.
