Chef at acclaimed Savannah restaurant the Grey participates in kitchen swap

Two chefs -- including one from Savannah -- are indulging in a little culinary Freaky Friday this month.

Mashama Bailey, chef at the Grey restaurant in Savannah, took over the kitchen for a night last week at New York spot the Houseman, and Houseman chef Ned Baldwin will take over the Grey's kitchen tonight.

The pair know each other well -- they worked together at Gabrielle Hamilton's popular New York restaurant Prune.

Bailey's cooked up 13 dishes for her kitchen takeover, including pickled oysters, braised endive with blue cheese and pecans, roast chicken, lamb roti and an ice cream sundae.

The Grey has garnered plenty of attention of late, including being named to Esquire's Best New Restaurant list and  OpenTable's list of the four hottest restaurants in GeorgiaIt was also named a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant by the James Beard Foundation Awards in 2015.
