Get to know your oysters
Gain a deeper appreciation for oysters and learn how to prepare and shuck them like a pro at home during Drift Fish House & Oyster Bar Oyster 101 Workshop. Explore oyster farming (aquaculture), oyster etiquette, flavor profiles, history and sustainability with chef/owner Doug Turbush and sous chef Will Puryear. Taste six raw oyster varieties; tasting sheets and wheels will be provided. Participants 21 and older will also get a glass of sparkling wine.

Butter up with spice
Chef Jernard Wells, who has appeared on “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Food Network Star,” will do a live cooking demo using Georgia-made Infusion Blends spice-infused butters, which are now being sold in Kroger stores. He’ll also sign copies of his new cookbook, “Southern Modified.”

Have some wine with your food
Stem Wine Bar is joining forces with Cakebread Cellars for a five-course wine pairing dinner. Look for pairings including Szechuan-cured Bay of Fundy salmon with 2016 Cakebread Napa Valley Chardonnay and braised pork cheek estofado with 2014 Cakebread Merlot.

Two chefs join forces
Zach Meloy of Better Half and Zeb Stevenson of Watershed on Peachtree are joining forces for a collaborative dinner. The night starts with a cocktail reception, followed by a six-course dinner with wine pairings. Dishes include shrimp chorizo with mofongo fries and whipped leche de tigre and collard “saag paneer” with grilled cornbread.
